The Ancient Dragon is Dragon Lord Pyraxis's eldest lieutenant ' a dragon older than the Celestial War, who served the Dragon Council before betraying them to follow Pyraxis. Unlike the younger dragons driven from their lairs, this one chose to serve the Corruptor willingly, seduced by promises of dominion over the ashes of the world. It lairs in the deepest volcanic caverns, guarding the approach to Pyraxis's chamber. Its scales are black as night, and its fire burns with the Corruptor's taint.
